In this video, I show you how the roof of my new outdoor kitchen is being built. I install the sheet piling and OSB boards on the framework, install the rain gutter and the local metal sheets, and finally I glue the slated welded membrane to make the roof waterproof.
The outdoor kitchen is being built on a gabion terrace created years ago. The centerpiece of this kitchen is my large Napoleon Phantom P500 gas barbecue, but a pizza oven, sink, fridge and entertainment technology also find their place here. I'll be documenting every stage of construction with my camera to give you some helpful tips.
Building an outdoor kitchen Part 6 - Installing the roof: Truss, OSB, rain gutter & welded membrane
I can finally start building the roof! The solid wooden beams and rafters of the timber frame are supported by the tongue and groove boards, which are stabilized with OSB boards. Finally, the S5 waterproof membrane is laid to make the roof waterproof. Rain and eaves sheets and a new rain gutter ensure that the water runs off properly.
