Build your own carport - digging the excavation pit and preparing the building site
In this video, I show you how I prepared the building site for my new carport. First, the building pit was measured and excavated so that the wooden carport from EasyCarport could be erected on a stable foundation.

In 2019, we built our own carport with a solar system on the roof. My video blog documents the entire construction process, from digging the excavation pit to installing the photovoltaic cells. To capture the construction process, I recorded the work in time-lapse mode.


Excavating the construction pit:

The soil on the construction site is very clayey and firm. The excavation pit was dug with a mini excavator and the subsoil was carefully leveled. A total of 35 tons of earth and clay had to be removed and disposed of. In preparation for the next construction phase, markings were made for the strip foundation on which a retaining wall made of formwork stones would later be erected to stabilize the slopes. The 9-hour work was summarized in a 13-minute video.
