About this Meditation:
Driving Anxiety is very real and I hope this meditation can get your mind off the worries of the road for a few minutes. I chose to use 4 Part Breath, or sometimes better known as Box or Balanced Breath, because, most importantly, I want the driver to feel a balance of both calmness and alertness; so they reamin focused on the road. And this is the breath I go to when I want to feel a both focused/alert and calm at the same time. 4 Part Breath is simple to do, but does require just the right amount of subtle-focus that it can also offers a challenge to keep you attention on the breath.
The groudning mindfulness exercise that you are guided through is inspired from The 5-4-3-2-1 Coping Technique (https://www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org/hometown-health/speaking-of-health/5-4-3-2-1-countdown-to-make-anxiety-blast-off). Make sure to take your time doing when doing the exercise.
