In this video, I show you how I clean my sand filter system and replace the old filter sand with new filter glass. The filter glass significantly improves the purification of the water in our pool. Step by step, I show how the old sand is removed, the filter spider is cleaned and the new filter glass is filled into the filter vessel.
With spring also comes the time to bring our pool out of hibernation. This year I decided to replace the old filter sand with filter glass as it is more efficient and lasts longer. While the filter sand needs to be replaced after 2-3 years, filter glass can remain in the filter system for up to 10 years.
In the video, I explain how I empty the sand filter with an industrial vacuum cleaner, clean the sand filter system and then put the system into operation with filter glass.
