The steel-reinforced concrete ceiling separates the basement from a cellar below, which once served as an air raid shelter. This is part of the drainage of our Art Nouveau villa, which was built in 1900.
The cellar structure below was originally a vegetable cellar and later an air raid shelter. Leaking pipes have caused water damage over the years and the steel beams in the cellar ceiling are heavily rusted. In order to make the room usable again, the old cellar ceiling must be completely removed along with the steel beams and the cellar renovated.
