Building a retaining wall on a slope - step-by-step instructions

In this video, I show you step by step how I secured the slope behind my carport with a sturdy wall made of formwork bricks. The wall stands on a concrete foundation and has a drainage system at the back to prevent standing water. I also used reinforcing steel to stabilize the construction and integrated special water drains in the lower stones. The video documents the entire construction process in detail, from marking to the finished result.

Our carport is located on a slope, which is why the retaining wall was necessary to stabilize the slope and protect the carport. The wall consists of concrete blocks, which were built on a strip foundation and then filled with concrete. You can also see in the video how I install a dimpled sheet and backfill the wall.

My video blog documents the entire project from the excavation pit to the installation of the solar system on the roof of the carport. Take a look at the time-lapse recordings to get a quick overview of the construction process.
