This Episode: I have notes! Yay!

I'm starting a two new video series: 'Drummer Reviews' and 'Everything I Know As A Drummer' Doing this episode confirmed that I NEED notes.

So...if you are an extrovert and had been wondering what happens in the minds of introverts? Then...you can watch the first episode of 'Drummer Reviews' where I get by with absolutely NO notes.

(Yes...I did notice that out of the 30 results I received 29 have a man featured as a mentor. That just shows how skewed things are...and I get why women...no matter what age they are...think that drumming isn't for them...as...women struggle to have visibility! I'm lucky that I didn't have to experience that...it could be that I am a driven person and a rebel...so...to me...I didn't see gender...I just saw something I was interested in...I wanted to learn more. Though my goal was not to help pave the way for more women to get into drumming...or feel like being a drummer makes sense to them as long as they have the drive and interest...I'm honoured to at least have a chance to diversify the search results. To be at least that ONE WOMAN an 8-year-old girl might see in the search results the day she decides to learn more about drumming.)

Oh...and if I were in the process of still finding 'The One'? The sticks that suit me the most? You bet I would have purchased a pair (or asked the ProMark marketing team if they'd be interested to send me some to test)

I recorded this with those who use headsets and earbuds and have sensitive hearing. Usually the videos up on YouTube are pretty loud. So...this would be a respite.

The completed Captions are coming! I'm in the process of typing them out...and...based on my experience in the first video (Episode #1 of 'Drummer Reviews'), I am better off just completing the whole thing and twiddling with the timings after, I think working on the timing bit by bit...made sense at the time, but I realised that YouTube's AI seems to be constantly wanting to latch on to the timings every time I update the subtitles...so what I've sorted out previously would be all stuffed up.

I did want to make it a bit...organic...because it's supposed to be me speaking to a friend. Because...we don't really have to impress friends. They are already impressed...that's why they are our friends! So, if you don't see the captions, it means I've just updated the captions and YouTube's system is processing it. Set an alarm for 4 hours, and check back. Though you might want to test it after...20 minutes (it's a theory! I haven't personally timed it!). Once they are available, it would automatically appear if you enabled captions in the last video you watched (assuming you're logged on to YouTube or haven't cleared the data in your browser).

Initially, I thought the option to add captions isn't available. Maybe it's because YouTube AI hasn't crawled over it yet? Then I realised I forgot to go through additional options where I choose the language of the video. Once that's done I'll be adding a link to a page on my personal domain. I'll be publishing posts of the transcripts (or at least the closest I could get to them!) for episodes of 'Drummer Reviews' and 'Everything I Know As A Drummer'
