Build your own outdoor kitchen: 3D planning with SketchUp and foundation preparation

In this video, I show you how I planned my new outdoor kitchen using the free 3D program SketchUp. In addition to planning the kitchen, the water supply, electrics and network cables were also taken into account. All the supply lines were installed before the floor slab was built to make the construction process more efficient.

The gabion terrace, which was created many years ago, is transformed into a modern outdoor kitchen. The centerpiece of this kitchen is a large gas barbecue and a pizza oven. The new outdoor kitchen also has a sink, a fridge and various entertainment systems. In my β€œOutdoor kitchen” project series, I document the construction stages step by step and provide helpful tips for implementation.

Step 1: Planning the outdoor kitchen and preparing the ground

Around 10 mΒ³ of soil and rubble was dug out by hand in the area of the gabion terrace. Then 14 tons of frost protection were installed. During this work, I laid KG pipes that will later be used for electrics, network and waste water. The fresh water supply was also realized via a corresponding pipe. I created the entire planning with the 3D drawing program SketchUp.
