In this video I look at wiring a standard outlet and switch that is used for 120v on grid systems to my 12v solar off grid system. I wired my shed and part of my barn with 12v wiring and used these standard 120v 15amp outlets, switches, lamp and ceiling light sockets to 12v to power a 7w 12v led light bulb. The sockets are an E26 base which means it hold a standard base type of light bulb. I have some 7w 12 led light bulbs with that E26 base so lets wire those 120v electrical stuff up with just 12v. The greatest thing is every where I looked the 12v lights, lamps, sockets, switches, etc all cost more money than these 1 dollar light switch and 1 dollar outlet from the hardware store.
