DIY Off-Grid Solar Electrical Shed + Bonus organization Tips! | Budget Pallet Workshop Build Ep 7

We started this budget pallet shed build with the idea of storing tools inexpensively and getting a place to work off grid and out of the elements. Finally, we are getting round to installing our own solar electricity in the shop! Game changer for our property.

After living two years off-grid, it was finally time to upgrade our workshop and create some order with our tools and our workflow. The original idea was to simply ferrocement over our existing hoop house and have a small enclosed space for tools… unfortunately, after a catastrophe, we changed directions and decided to build out the FULL workshop shed of our dreams. To up the difficulty, I was on a tight budget, forcing the use of mostly the salvage and reclaimed materials we had existing on the property. The project was almost entirely a solo, one-man build since the majority of our eco-residence crew had left for the summer… and I had 3 weeks to get it built.

Now that the shed is built, to the fun part, organizing and making our shop a functional space using french cleat walls, earthbag floors, and a ferrocement work bench!

So much learning came out of this build. It was a weird one but a fun one! Hope you enjoy it.
