This low impact, easy-to-follow routine is perfect for those looking to start or maintain an active lifestyle. Follow personal trainer April on a brisk walk to 7000 steps! Whether you're a senior looking to stay active or a beginner taking your first steps towards fitness, this gentle walking workout is suitable for all fitness levels. Mom even does part of it in a chair.

We do 3 sets of 5 exercises: 60 second straight walking rounds with 40 seconds of walking with fun arm movements.

According to researchers, the optimal number of steps in a day depends on your age:
✅ Younger than 60: 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day.
✅ Older than 60: 6,000 to 8,000 steps a day.

According to Scientific American (https://tinyurl.com/6K8Ksteps) “The older you are, the less efficient you are with your steps. Per step, older people expend more energy.” As a result, older adults need fewer steps to achieve the same benefits.
