Short movie from 2013 showing the assembling of the very first table I ever made.

Table #1 is made from the rare Whitebeam wood, a cousin of the more commonly known Rowan wood. The batch used for making this rable is even rarer: it was infected by a funges (spalted), hence the fantastic colour variation and the deep black inky lines. Gifted to me in 2010 I used it to make the very first Tsugi table, - as my graduation project at the school for wood- and furnituremaking in Amsterdam.
As the years went by Tsugi's tables developed further; number two and three (larger tables) needed more sophistacated joinery to allow space for the seasonal 'working' of the wood. (Wood naturally expands in summer and contracts in winter). All Tsugi's tables now come with butterflies to connect the boards tightly together, two more pegs for each skirt connecting to the leg and... a little hammer, hidden under the table to drive the pegs in and to stabilize the table.
The Whitebeam table you see in this movie is remade in 2022 to catch up with it's successors development.
