The fundamental structure of traditional Japanese carpentry is posts assembled with beams, connected together by joineries cut into the wood.
The “nuki” goes through the posts, tightened by wedges and locks the frame. This simple approach can create a strong structure.
A simple saw horse made based on this principle, using minimal hand tools.
A fun project to experience traditional carpentry methods and hand tools (suitable even for beginners).
